If you’ve found your way here, you’re probably a parent who’s trying to understand what kind of help your child really needs. You’ve heard about ABA therapy, maybe even been told it’s your only option, but something about it doesn’t sit quite right.
This space was created for you.
I’m a parent of 2 neurodivergent kids. My kids, and family, did it all.. including years of ABA therapy. I am not saying we did not see results, because we did! What I am saying is that we were pushed to do more and more ABA therapy for various reasons like insurance and other pressures which led me to think “why?”. Why do we need so much ABA therapy? is it really helpful? can we utilize other therapies without drowning in multiple hours of ABA every week? does the ABA therapist really get my son?
Beyond ABA Care exists to start a conversation that’s long overdue. It’s a place for parents, caregivers, and professionals who believe that supporting neurodivergent kids should be about more than compliance or behavior change. It should be about connection, understanding, and care that honors who each child truly is.
I’m not here to shame or attack anyone. I’m here to ask questions, share research, and explore what “help” can really mean when we look at the whole child instead of just the surface behaviors.
Over time, this blog will dig deeper into what drives the therapy system, how insurance shapes recommendations, and what alternatives truly exist. But for now, I just want to start by saying this:
You’re not alone for questioning things. And it’s okay to want something better.
Thank you for being here. I hope what you find here helps you feel seen, supported, and a little more confident in choosing what’s right for your child.
